Creative Developer

We are seeking passionate creative developers with an eye for animation and design to join our family. You will help the team at Finlabs to conceive, develop, and evolve world-class products and services. You will collaborate directly with our designers and creative thinkers to develop rapid prototypes and MVPs. You will be the driving force behind creative front-end development and ensuring our product experiences stand out and delight users.

This position is ideally filled in NYC where we have a desk at the ready for the right candidate. This is initially a freelance role with the option to convert to permanent. We are a close-knit team of avid explorers that provides you a unique opportunity to collaborate and develop new skills in many different areas.

You will be an important part of our team for delivering product and service solutions to our clients. You will serve as a bridge between design and development, often working directly with designers to craft an experience and explore possibilities, then bringing that insight and understanding to the larger development team when it comes to implementation. You will constantly co-operate and develop together with our designers, backend team, and our clients.

About You

Within Finlabs, you will sit squarely between our design and technology teams, working hand in hand with both to implement top-notch technology with an exceptional experience, together. You are as comfortable talking about technology stacks as you are talking animations and drop-shadows. You have experience with the architecture/engineering workflow and construction process, and the ways technology systems design and integration projects fold into the built environment. You are comfortable leading both internal teams and external vendors/partners, as well as working with high-level clients towards the success of a project. You are also self-organized and able to not only track and maintain your own work but also regularly provide updates to project teams on progress, hurdles, and topics requiring extra attention.

You are naturally curious about all types of technology and show a strong enthusiasm and appreciation for its contribution to a larger experience. Tinkering with hardware, sensors, Arduino's, and anything else that lets you express your creative ability through technology excites you and you're comfortable figuring out new technologies that require hardware, software, firmware, and a bunch of cables (or RF) to make them work.

You love bringing visual design to life and love a good prototype to throw together. You will coordinate closely with our designers and creatives to augment and translate their visions into reality. You will be as comfortable locked in a closet sodering wires together as you are throwing post-it notes on the wall as part of any design and innovation workshop. You instinctively understand the intersection of technology, design, and brand, and have an online portfolio to showcase this ability.

You Should...

  • Have 3-5+ years of creative development
  • Be able to fly solo or as part of a team.
  • Be a blend of a developer mindset and a creatively curious mindset.

  • Have experience with creative front-end coding including animations, WebGL, and anything else that brings magic to the web.
  • Be familiar with AR and VR, and recognize their possibilities and applications.
  • Be comfortable with computational creativity.
  • Have an online portfolio that showcases your creativity and technical know-how.
